Continual high volume input, without relief, impedes critical thought, creativity, and productive output

In this digital age, we have a near constant stream of input. When we become acclimated to constant input, we get really good at learning new things and obtaining new knowledge, but lose the skills to use critical thinking and be able to creatively solve problems or do something productive with that knowledge.

This is because our brains are on constant overload taking in so much new information that we hardly have time to exercise these other skills.
